Vera was born in Hungary and moved to Canada at a very early age. She always had an interest in wildlife and the natural surroundings and the desire to draw and paint those images.
Upon retirement Vera and her pianist and classical guitarist husband moved to Vancouver Island where that desire to paint took hold and she started studying art with Lloyd Major, a well known and highly respected Canadian artist and teacher.
Vera now resides with her husband on a peninsula in the scenic Beachcomber area of Nanoose Bay and spends her days painting in her studio to the sounds of sea lions barking and eagles calling in the background. Snow capped mountains and the ocean between the trees viewed through the windows and large french doors are part of the enchantment that inspires her paintings.
Within a short walk from her home and adjacent studio Vera and her husband enjoy the picturesque red barked arbutus trees, moss covered rocks, beaches, trails and spectacular ocean vistas framed by snow capped mountains.
.....so much to paint.....
